Come join the nearly one hundred volunteers who are the heart of the food bank.
 
We know it can be hard to find the time to give something to your community, so we have flexible schedules, and welcome everyone.
Come and join us every week, or even just a few times a year. We have on call and regular positions available.
Be a part of a great volunteer team, make a contribution to your community, and help us to feed the island. Questions? Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Greg at 463-6332, or email him at greg@vashonfoodbank.org.
 
Volunteer Opportunities:
                  • Warehouse (truck unloading, sorting, re-packing, breaking down boxes, stocking)
                  • Distribution (staffing station, stocking, in-take, helping carry bags, smiling and being helpful and friendly)
                  • Home Delivery (individually packing bags of groceries, loading Food Bank van, delivering groceries)
                  • Food Bank Garden (come by and help on Wednesdays in the summer/fall from 9am till 11am, or at 5pm.)
                  • Food Bank Farm (lots to do! and always fun! Work days are generally on Mondays and Tuesdays, with other days added in here and there - join our weekly Farm and Garden email list to keep up to date with when we'll be out there)
                  • On-call for all kinds of random acts of Food Bank help kindness (random pick ups of food donations, recycling, help with food drives, gleaning, folding and stuffing projects....)

V o l u n t e e r s   i n  t h e   S p o t l i g h t
Pat and Nana have been volunteering at the food bank
 for a combined total of over twenty years.

Together they work at our protein table, helping clients make healthy choices, and spreading their warm cheer.

Self described "foodies", they enjoy suggesting
recipes and creative ways to use simple foods.

As Pat says,
"We have both been given so much, this is our way
 to give something back to our community.
It's also a lot of fun!"
